How to Install Drivers and MusicMatch Software | Insert Supplied CD.
Only if using Windows 98 or ME, click on "Install USB Drivers". (No drivers should be required for Windows 2000 or XP!) Reboot. Click on "Install MusicMatch Jukebox". Follow instructions on screen. After installation is complete, Click on "Install MusicMatch Plug-in". |
How to download music to your player. | Run MusicMatch
Jukebox.
Go to "Options:Music Library:Search and Add Tracks from All Drives" Click OK. The software will search out all .mp3 and .wma files on your computer. Once complete, drag desired files into the playlist (the upper right window). [NOTE: Currently only mp3 files are supported. wma files will not work until an updated driver is provided by RCA.] Go to "File:Send to Device:Download Playlist to Lyra Personal Audio Player" Click "Select All" on the left hand side of window. Click "Download". When download is complete, click "Done". IMPORTANT: Do not unplug the USB cable until the display says "USB Connected Int. Mem" |
How to reformat your player's internal memory. | This may solve
problems with "Internal Memory Error", however do this at your
own risk!
Backup the "lyra_sys" folder to your hard drive by opening RD-1080 in "My Computer" and dragging entire folder to desktop. Since it is a hidden folder, you may have to go to "Folder Options" and turn on "Show Hidden and System Files". You can also download a copy of the folder from the Downloads section of this web site. Right click on the RD-1080 in My Computer and select "Format". Under File System, select "FAT" or "FAT16" and click "Start". After format is completed, drag lyra_sys folder back to RD-1080. |
Upgrading Memory. | The RCA RD-1080 can take either MultiMediaCards (MMC) or Secure Digital (SD) cards. Both are available in sizes up to 256MB, although compatibility with the 256MB cards is unclear. |
